We are the Heart of Czech Parkour

We support healthy movement through a modern sport discipline. We also see parkour as a method of personal development.

our vision and mission

Parkour, as a versatile sport, develops overall body coordination. It is suitable for everyone, regardless of age or sports experience. As an activity focused on overcoming obstacles, parkour is also an effective way of psychological development.

Our goal is to create an environment where parkour is accessible to the general public and to support the development of the Czech parkour community. We believe that due to its cool nature and fun aspect, parkour has the potential to inspire even inactive people to love movement.

BUILDING A GYM
WAS A BIG CHALLENGE

The Beginnings of In Motion Academy

We were a group of friends who trained parkour together since 2009. Even then, we dreamed of a parkour gym. Later, with our team In Motion, we earned extra money through performances, trainings, and workshops. Building a parkour gym was a challenge we dared to take on in 2014.

Public Fundraising for the First Parkour Gym

Our crowdfunding campaign on the Startovač.cz platform for the first parkour gym in the Czech Republic was successful. Thanks to the contributions of 150 people, we gathered a total of 161,180 CZK. We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed, and this gratitude continues to this day!

FROM PARKOURISTS
FOR PARKOURISTS

Construction and opening of the Prague Gym

After a year of searching, we finally find and rent the ideal space for our gym, don our worst sweatpants, and plunge into the renovation. We do everything with our own hands, supported by other enthusiastic parkourists. From In Motion, the In Motion Academy is born - the first parkour gym in the Czech Republic is here!

A PARKOUR COMPETITION
IN A FRIENDLY SPIRIT

The First Major Competition IMACON

In the new gym, we host the first edition of our competition, which we name IMACON. We are the only ones in the Czech Republic to adopt the American format of Speed-Skill-Style, where competitions in three parkour categories take place during a single event. This competition has become an annual tradition and is also attended by parkourists from abroad.

Building Gyms in Brno and Pilsen

The first year of operation is so successful that we decide to build additional gyms in two regional cities over the summer. In Brno and Pilsen, we have friends among parkourists to whom we entrust the operation and leadership of trainings. All local parkourists gain perfect facilities, and newcomers have a great opportunity to start.

PARKOUR GYMS
IN SMALLER TOWNS

Opening a Gym in Kladno

Kladno becomes the first smaller town with an In Motion Academy. Like every gym, the Kladno one is unique. It is located in the Workers' House, a historically protected building in the heart of the town. The interior is complex, and the parkour obstacles smartly utilize it to the fullest.

When designing parkour parks, my main goal is long-term usability for training, ideally with minimal age and proficiency limitations.

The interior spaces of such a parkour gym are unlike any other and can enchant newcomers. The eye moves across many levels, nooks, platforms, walls, and railings. However, the main purpose is not visual attractiveness but the widest possible range of parkour opportunities. In parkour, there is no definitive list of exercise equipment - it is a sport based on adaptability to an unlimited number of obstacles that exist in the world around us. Parkour gyms try to simulate them in an enriched, dense version, so they offer opportunities not commonly found outdoors.

WHAT OUR
COACHES SAY
OUR PARKOUR
VALUES

The parkour practitioner chooses their own path. Through improving their movement skills, they have more options to move freely, independent of predefined paths.

The parkour practitioner knows their limits and the risks of their surroundings, which allows them to make decisions and bear the consequences of those decisions.

The parkour practitioner respects their surroundings, the environment where they train, their friends, and their body. They behave in a way to avoid harming any of these. They listen to their body and take good care of it.

Every parkour practitioner has their own path and style. There is no better or worse. Everyone has something to learn continually, even from the less experienced.

Through training, the parkour practitioner gains trust in their own abilities and in themselves. Parkourists also trust each other. You never know when you will need others.

The parkour practitioner clears their mind, which allows them to succeed where fear and nervousness would bring them down. Through focus, the mind of a parkour practitioner finds itself in the immediate present and escapes the influences of everyday stress.

The parkour practitioner works with their fear. They know when it's necessary to listen to it and when to go against it. By continually overcoming new challenges, they become braver.

Parkour is an open discipline to all. Parkourists are friendly and willing to help and advise each other. They welcome newcomers and pass on their experience.

The parkour practitioner is persistent in their training. Some techniques require long-term training and hard work before they can be mastered. A parkourist does not give up easily.

The parkour practitioner strives to improve every day. With every next move, they try to surpass themselves again. They know there is always room for improvement.
