parkour coach Tomáš Zonyga Zony
All CoachesTomáš Zonyga “Zony” was born on April 22, 1993 in South Moravia, where from an early age he was a real livewire and had a genuine knack for jumping, running, and climbing. Even though he officially started parkour in 2008, he admits he had been doing it long before that. 🙂
He completed his primary education at Slovácká Primary School in Břeclav, where he attended a sports-focused class. He then continued by studying civil engineering at Masaryk Secondary School in Letovice, and subsequently studied at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University in Prague, where he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. Zony’s professional career began to take shape in 2012, when he first became a coach at the international FAM JAM gatherings in Munich. Later, he organized children’s parkour camps for ZOHIR s.r.o., ran workshops, and appeared at public events as a performer and host. To this day, his work has expanded to include filming commercials, series, and films, and performing in theatre productions—whether as a stunt performer, coordinator, or actor. Studying parkour in Denmark and successfully completing the accredited Parkour Instructor license in cooperation with the Czech Sokol Community enabled him to expand his FTVS knowledge enough to pass on his experience not only to the public, but also to future parkour coaches. In 2016, he co-founded In Motion Academy s.r.o., where he not only organized and mentored coaches, but also continues to lead group and individual lessons. Last but not least, he is the co-author of two book titles about parkour.
Zony achieved athletic success already in primary school in track and field, and his parkour career is no exception. From 2012 to the present, he has regularly placed among the top competitors in parkour competitions both at home and abroad—especially in the SKILL and SPEED disciplines.
Zony takes a playful and versatile approach to training. He finds a way to connect with children as both a coach and a friend whom lesson participants can trust. He believes everyone has more in them than they think, and that’s why his trainings are truly active and full of challenges whose goal is not only to build a positive relationship with authority figures, friends, or sport, to teach participants to control their bodies and master individual tricks, but—especially for children—to strengthen self-confidence and independence. His lessons are often full of humor, but he also knows how to firmly restore order if participants cross the proverbial line. He most enjoys training beginners, less coordinated or shy children with an inner interest in parkour or sport in general. Zony is among the top parkour athletes in the country and understands individual tricks and the needs of participants like few others, which is why he can explain or devise exercises so that even a complete beginner who is afraid can overcome themselves, have a great time, and learn something.
